    Benefits of effective delegation

The effects of delegating tasks in the workplace are numerous; it increases your productivity and allows you to focus on more essential tasks while boosting the self-esteem of the workforce. It boosts morale and eases stress which leads to a better working environment and builds confidence.

If you wondering if you should delegate some tasks then read on and consider the following factors, this should tell you if delegation is the right choice for you and the company.

Firstly ask yourself if you are spending enough quality time when it comes to strategic planning and overall monitoring.

Next take a look around at your desk, is it overflowing with projects and tasks which you have started but are unfinished?

What is the working environment like; do the people around you feel appreciated and useful? Do you keep them sufficiently motivated and are they enthusiastic in their work?

Finally ask yourself whether you are delegating routine and necessary tasks.

If you are delegating but things don’t seem to be going as planned, then ask yourself  what you are doing wrong and if you have the necessary experience to coach others and if not then ask yourself what you can do about it and take steps towards remedying the situation.

8 delegation tips to blast through barriers – Part 2

Here are some more tips to help you get the most from the workforce and encourage a better working environment.

When delegating your workload always make sure that the person you have delegated the project to knows the boundaries of which they can go. For example make sure you outline how much the person can spend on the project or whether they can take aboard others help on the project.

If you don’t feel comfortable delegating the entire project then delegate in smaller sizes, once they have succeeded in completing the given project then delegate more to them. This way they won’t feel overwhelmed and you won’t be worried that they won’t be able to complete the project.

If the person you have delegated a task to makes a mistake and things don’t go as planned then don’t be too hard on them. We all make mistakes and as long as we learn from them, then all isn’t lost.

Above all show that you have faith in others and encourage them to strive towards bettering themselves in the work that they do, don’t overwhelm them but don’t give them too easy a task to complete as this could come across as you not having enough trust in them

8 delegation tips to blast through barriers – Part 1

Delegating tasks in the workplace is essential; it not only gives the leader a break but also brings fresh minds to a project. It can also boost self-esteem among the workforce and bring out enthusiasm. Here are some top tips to help you when delegating to blast through the barriers in the workplace.

By delegating tasks to employees you are able to focus on higher priority projects while also boosting the self –esteem and allows subordinates to grow.

Getting to know your people makes delegating tasks easier and more efficient and makes for a better atmosphere in the workplace and among the workforce.

Always give the person a little more than you think they can comfortably handle, by delegating them a little more, this will encourage them to strive ahead. Have faith in them and let them see you have faith; it can be surprising what they can achieve and are capable of.

Always make it quite clear what you expect the outcome to be, however don’t put in down in black and white how to reach the outcome, let those you have delegated the task to work out how to get there.

    Here's an Idea!

Here's an idea which would really make my life easier... anyone fancy taking it on as a project?

Its about my car.   I would like someone to come round about once a week and collect it, clean it obviously(!), fill it with petrol, check the air in the tyres, the screenwash, the oil levels and give it a general tidy up.
